This session will offer educators the opportunity to learn about how to differentiate instruction with technology-supported evidence-based English Language Arts (ELA) and math strategies, while considering digital accessibility needs, to improve learning outcomes for all students. Grounded in the principles of UDL, educators will learn how to develop lesson plans and teaching strategies that integrate technology tools with evidence-based practices to address the learning needs of all students. Educators will learn about the three principles of Universal Design for Learning, and how to translate those principles into practice to create the conditions for student engagement and motivation.

Each of the ELA and math teaching strategies participants will explore during the content-specific small group session includes:

  • Step by step guidance for
    • Providing direct and explicit instruction
    • Creating opportunities for students to practice and demonstrate understanding
    • Carrying out ongoing formative assessment and providing feedback
    • Motivating and engaging students
  • Lessons in Action – exemplars showing what the technology-supported strategy looks like in practice
  • Videos and learning resources
